Biden Puts American Defense in Jeopardy
If the supply chain shortage, rising gas prices, collapsed U.S.-Mexico border, labor shortage, and dwindling overall economy wasn’t already bad enough, President Biden is now getting America into a dangerous standoff with major world power China.
According to Fox News, the White House was recently forced to correct a statement from President Biden where he claimed that the United States would protect Taiwan if they were attacked from Beijing.
Experts believe that this difference in messaging between the leader of the United States and the White House could cause policy debate issues and shows great weakness in President Biden’s foreign affairs strategy.
In a recent statement, President Biden stated, “China, Russia, and the rest of the world knows we have the most powerful military in the history of the world. Don’t worry about whether we’re going to – they’re going to be more powerful. What you do have to worry about is whether or not they’re going to engage in activities that will put them in a position where they may make a serious mistake.”
Biden was then asked again if the U.S. would defend Taiwan and Biden replied, “Yes. Yes, we have a commitment to do that.”
The United States, for a long time, has attempted to keep “strategic ambiguity” when it came to dealing with the China-Taiwan conflict. President Biden’s words sparked international controversy which caused the White House to speak out against Biden and clarify his comments.
The White House was forced to say that there had been no change to U.S. policy because of Biden’s words. This is a clear indication to other countries such as China and Russia that the United States is weak and unsure about how they would handle any acts against world peace they plan to commit under Biden’s leadership.
