Schumer’s Plan To Get Rid Of Republicans

In an attempt to fully control the election process at a federal level and push more of President Biden’s agenda, Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer is preparing to hold a vote on their Democratic bill however he does not have the votes.

To remedy this issue, Schumer is now planning to do the unthinkable and blow up the filibuster to get their way.

According to Politico, in a letter to fellow Democrats, Schumer stated, “The Senate must evolve, like it has many times before. The Senate was designed to evolve and has evolved many times in our history. … The fight for the ballot is as old as the Republic.”

He also explained, “We can and must take strong action to stop this anti-democratic march.”

Currently, all 50 Democrat support Schumer’s push for election legislation. However, they have met resistance from Republicans who repeatedly filibustered it.

Republicans have immediately lashed out at Schumer over the decision to do so. Sen. Mike Lee (R-Utah) stated, “an evenly divided Senate breaking and forever changing rules that require a supermajority is like a football team declaring its opponent’s endzone starts at the 40 yard-line.”

Schumer also used the Jan 6th Capitol protest to argue in favor of the move and stated it was a “symptom of a broader illness — an effort to delegitimize our election process.”

What’s even worse is in 2005, Schumer said eliminating the filibuster would be a terrible idea.
