Ocasio-Cortez And Squad Take Over Congress
It now appears that progressives are looking for a new generation of leaders to replace the current progressives who have been holding down Congress for decades such as Senators Elizabeth Warren and Bernie Sanders.
According to The Hill, one Democratic strategist explained, “We’ve been talking about fresh blood for years. Years! And every time we go back to the dinosaurs because we say we have nothing better.”
It’s obvious that the far-left wants more progressive Democrats representing them in Congress. This means that none other than Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and the rest of The Squad, such as Ilhan Omar and Rashida Tliab, will be leading the way in reshaping the Democrat Party.
What’s worse is that the progressive Democrats are looking to move away from Bernie Sanders and Elizabeth Warren and appear to want a “blank canvas” to start from when it comes to the Senate.
Another Democratic strategist explained, “We should be finding ways to elevate some rising stars in the party who have been crowded out by people like Bernie.”
A former Obama administration official even took a veiled shot at Warren and how represents far-left women claiming, “Women of all ages don’t see themselves reflected or considered in the decisions being made politically or policy wise, so they definitely want something to change.”
