Democrats Do The Unthinkable
Senate Democrats just did the unthinkable and passed the whopping $430 billion bill which aims to fight climate change, lower drug costs and raise corporate taxes.
According to Newsmax, This is a major victory for President Biden and the Democrats and will even aid the Democrats in their ability to keep control of Congress after the midterms.
Republicans were fighting aggressively to derail this bill however it was passed via a 51-50 vote in the Senate with Vice President Kamala Harris casting the tie breaking vote.
Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer stated, “The time is now to move forward with a big, bold package for the American people.”
Schumer added that the new bill is “the boldest clean energy package in American history” to fight climate change while also lowering prices on important drugs and energy.
Republicans lashed out against Democrats over the new $430 billion in new spending and roughly $740 billion in new revenue.
Democrats hope this new bill will please Democrat voters and will help them remain in power for the upcoming midterm elections.
The new legislation is ultimately aiming to reducing carbon emissions and shifting consumers to green energy. Republicans strongly believe that this will not lower inflation and will in more job losses for millions of Americans.
