Biden Tanks Gas Industry
President Biden and his administration just infuriated Americans by canceling one of the most high-profile oil and gas lease sales pending in the United States which is sure to raise gas prices even further now.
According to Fox, Biden’s Department of the Interior stopped the plan to drill for oil on over 1 million acres of Alaska’s Cook Inlet and also stopped the leasing sale of two site in the Gulf of Mexico.
A spokesperson for the DOI explained the foolish decision and said, “Due to lack of industry interest in leasing in the area, the Department will not move forward with the proposed Cook Inlet OCS oil and gas lease sale 258.”
Adding, “The Department also will not move forward with lease sales 259 and 261 in the Gulf of Mexico region, as a result of delays due to factors including conflicting court rulings that impacted work on these proposed lease sales.”
In just his first week as President, Joe Biden signed an executive order to temporarily suspend new oil and gas leases on federal lands.
