Pelosi Decides To Quit
While House Speaker Nancy Pelosi hasn’t officially announced her retirement from politics, It looks very likely that she will soon step down and many lower ranking House Democrats have been eyeballing her position and are waiting to climb the ranks.
According to Yahoo, Democratic House Budget Committee Chairman John Yarmuth acknowledged Pelosi’s likelihood to leave the House and said, “My gut would tell me that this would be her last term. I see a lot of people who would be the presumed successors donating a lot of money to their colleagues.”
What’s worse for the Democrats is that Pelosi knows the midterm are going to be uglier than ever. Currently, there are around 24 Democrats that are expected to retire or move on and political experts have been predicting that the red wave is highly likely.
If that wasn’t bad enough Rep. Ocasio-Cortez and other members of “The Squad” have been constantly taking swipes at Pelosi’s leadership and questioning her handling of the Speaker position.
All of this has built up under Pelosi’s leadership and she would be insane to attempt to remain House Speaker especially with Republicans and most of America ready to see a new leader in the House.
