Trump Dropping Out Of 2024 Race?

Former US President Donald Trump has reportedly stated that he will continue to run for the presidency in 2024, regardless of any legal consequences that may result from the allegations of hush-money payments to adult film actress Stormy Daniels prior to the 2016 election.

In transcript provided by Newsmax, Trump reassured his supporters and said, “No, I’d never drop out. That’s not my thing. I wouldn’t do it.

Last week, former US President Donald Trump was formally charged with 34 felony counts of falsifying business records in Manhattan, which makes him the first US president, either current or former, to face criminal charges. Trump has pleaded not guilty to these charges and is also being investigated for other criminal offenses as he seeks to run for the presidency again.

In his interview on Tuesday, Carlson posed a question to Trump, asking him how he would react if he were to be convicted in the ongoing Manhattan criminal case while actively running for the presidency.

Trump stated, “It is so off. Statute of limitations are years off. It’s hard to believe. … They say there’s no crime. There’s no, there’s no anything. Think of it. I’ve been through seven years of bulls*** investigations.”

Following Carlson’s question, Trump responded by expressing his frustration and anger towards the numerous legal cases that he and his businesses are currently facing, including the recent tax fraud conviction of the Trump Organization.

“The rallies are bigger now that the enthusiasm is more now than I’ve ever seen,” Trump added.

There is no provision in the US Constitution that prohibits individuals who have been charged or convicted of a crime from running for or holding public office.

Following Trump’s indictment, James Sampler, a constitutional law professor at Hofstra University, stated in an interview with ABC News that although individuals who have been convicted of felonies may be barred from voting in some states, a president who has been convicted of a felony is not automatically disqualified from holding the office.
