Cheney Attacks Supreme Court
Republican Rep. Liz Cheney dropped a bombshell on the Supreme Court and admitted that the Jan. 6 Committee is “fully prepared to contemplate a subpoena” for Virginia “Ginni” Thomas who is the wife of Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas if she refuses to testify before them.
According to The Hill, Cheney stated, “The committee is engaged with her counsel. We certainly hope that she will agree to come in voluntarily but the committee is fully prepared to contemplate a subpoena if she does not. I hope it doesn’t get to that. I hope she will come in voluntarily.”
Democrats have been targeting Ginni Thomas because they believe that she had some sort of a political affiliation or communication with former President Donald Trump who they claim attempted to overturn the 2020 election.
Democrats are also accusing Thomas of communicating with Trump’s former White House Chief of Staff Mark Meadows to find a way to overturn the results of the election as well. None of these claims have been proven.
When Thomas was asked about appearing before the Jan 6th Committee she said she was eager to however her lawyer noted that it was not necessary for her to go.
Democrats and Liz Cheney have now resorted to targeting the spouses of Supreme Court justices.
