U.S. Allies Attack Republicans
In a very strange turn of events, several world leaders who happen to also be U.S. allies decided to give their two cents about the Supreme Court’s decision to overturn Roe.
According to Fox, it all began when U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken wrote, “As Secretary of State, I usually avoid commenting on Supreme Court rulings. But today’s decision overturning Roe v. Wade has raised understandable questions and concerns across the world and within our [the Department of State’s] workforce.”
That’s when Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau chimed in and said, “The news coming out of the United States is horrific. My heart goes out to the millions of American women who are now set to lose their legal right to an abortion. I can’t imagine the fear and anger you are feeling right now.”
Trudeau went on to say, “No government, politician or man should tell a woman what she can and cannot do with her body. I want women in Canada to know that we will always stand up for your right to choose.”
Then French President Emmanuel Macron piled on and said, “Abortion is a fundamental right for all women. We must protect it. I would like to express my solidarity with all those women whose freedoms have today been compromised by the U.S. Supreme Court.”
Then Germany’s Chancellor Olaf Scholz said, “Women’s rights are threatened. We must consistently defend them.”
It appears that world leaders are more worried about what’s going on in the United States than their own countries. Strange behavior.
