Non-Citizens To Be Given Voting Rights
In an astounding turn of events, it now appears that The New York City Council is expected to vote next week on a bill that could give non-citizens the right to vote in municipal elections.
This could give over 800,000 people the right to vote who are not American citizens!
According to Fox, as a result of this shocking new revelation, Republicans are prepared to fight this vote in court if it is passed.
Members of the New York State Republican Party vowed to fight and do whatever they could to prevent this.
“We pledge action, legal or otherwise, any means necessary to stop this dangerous legislation from undermining our elections,” party chairman Nick Langworthy stated.
Langworthy added, “I thought we’d seen it all from Democrats in this state, perhaps the worst idea out of New York City Democrats ever.“
The new bill which is being pushed by New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio will give residents with green cards or work authorizations the right to vote in NYC.
Mayor de Blasio also noted that if Democrats can get the bill passed, de Blasio is willing to sign it into law.
