GOP Governor Snitches On Trump

It looks like one of former President Donald Trump’s biggest enemies, Georgia Governor Brian Kemp, is now going to have to show up in court and talk to investigators after a judge denied his motion to overturn his subpoena.

According to Fox News, a judge determined that Kemp will have to show up in court but it can be after the November midterms where he will face off against Democrat Stacey Abrams for a second time.

Fulton County Superior Court Judge Robert C.I. McBurney insisted that Kemp must honor his subpoena.

McBurney explained, “Remaining is the question of when the Governor will need to honor his subpoena. The answer is after the 8 November 2022 general election. The Governor is in the midst of a re-election campaign and this criminal grand jury investigation should not be used by the District Attorney, the Governor’s opponent, or the Governor himself to influence the outcome of that election. The sound and prudent course is to let the election proceed without further litigation or other activity concerning the Governor’s involvement in the special purpose grand jury’s work. Once the election is over, the Court expects the Governor’s legal team promptly to make arrangements for his appearance.”

Officials are investigating what happened following the 2020 presidential election when then-President Donald Trump called Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger. Democrats are insisting that Trump asked Raffensperger to “find” more votes however Trump has denied doing so.
