Is DeSantis Better Suited To Be President Than Trump?

GOP Supports Pelosi For What?

In a rare turn of events, the Republican Party is actually very happy with House Speaker Nancy Pelosi after she doubled down on her planned visit with Taiwan even after China threatened the United States about her planned visit.

Pelosi is typically a known antagonist to the Republican Party however conservatives see eye-to-eye with her on this hot button issue.

According to The Hill, Pelosi has a fierce and aggressive attitude towards China’s history of human right abuses. This stance has lead to even some of the strongest Republicans in Congress backing her opposition to China.

Republican Rep. Mike Gallagher applauded Pelosi’s decision and said, “As someone who disagrees with Speaker Pelosi on most every policy issue, on this area, she actually does have a track record — going back to Tiananmen — of criticizing the Chinese Communist Party for their human rights abuses. And so I think it would be in keeping with that track record — and very useful for American diplomacy and foreign policy — for the Speaker of the House to go to Taiwan.”

“Now, it’s more imperative than ever that she doesn’t back down,” he added.

Republican Rep. Steve Chabot who works closely with Taiwan said, “I hope she stands up to the pressure that she’s going to get, and is already getting, from President Biden and the administration. I think it’s important that we show solidarity with our ally Taiwan. So I commend her for making the decision to go. I hope she sticks to her guns.”

No politician as high-profile as Speaker Pelosi has traveled to Taiwan since 1997.

Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Zhao Lijian threatened the United States and said, “If the U.S. side insists on making the visit and challenges China’s red line, it will be met with resolute countermeasures. The U.S. must assume full responsibility for any serious consequence arising thereof.”

President Biden on the other hand is showing his cowardice and is saying the the U.S. military “thinks it’s not a good idea right now” for Pelosi to go.
