Should Biden Be Allowed To Expand The Supreme Court To 13 Judges?

Biden And Dems End Filibuster

In an astonishing turn of events, President Biden has just changed course and said that he now supports Congress moving to end the filibuster in order to protect the right to abortions.

According to Newsmax, Biden’s comments came during at a press conference at a NATO summit in Spain. Biden boldly stated, “If the filibuster gets in the way, it’s like voting rights.”

Biden then taunted the Supreme Court and said that there should be an “exception to the filibuster for this action to deal with the Supreme Court decision.”

Ever since Biden was a Senator he has always been very reluctant against changing the filibuster in any way. The filibuster allows any lawmaker of the 100-member Senate to block action on legislation unless it receives 60 votes which is very difficult to attain otherwise.

However, now that the Supreme Court has overturned Roe, Biden appears to be willing to throw his past opinions about the filibuster aside to protect abortion rights.

“I believe we have to codify Roe v. Wade into law. And the way to do that is to make sure that the Congress votes to do that and if the filibuster gets in the way, it’s like voting rights, it should be … an exception … to the filibuster for this action to deal with the Supreme Court decision,” Biden said.
