Ocasio-Cortez Opens Fire On Manchin
After Democrat Senator Joe Manchin said that he was not going to vote in favor of President Biden’s Build Back Better Bill, Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez went to war on Biden behalf.
As you may already know, Senator Manchin stated recently that he was a firm “no” on President Biden’s social spending package. Manchin claimed that the excessive amount of spending by Biden wasn’t a good idea especially as inflation continues to soar in America.
Now according to Fox, Ocasio-Cortez is calling Manchin’s decision an, “egregious breach of the trust of the president.” Ocasio-Cortez then explained that Democrats have “every right to be furious with Joe Manchin,” especially after they negotiated with him and lowered the costs on progressive provisions in the $1.75 trillion bill.
Ocasio-Cortez also claimed that the bill turned into the “Joe Manchin Build Back Better Bill.”
Ocasio-Cortez then claimed, “This idea that we’re going to refit it to Joe Manchin’s liking, the bill has already been retrofitted to Joe Manchin’s liking. Let’s make that extremely clear. The climate ambitions have been reduced because of Joe Manchin.”
Currently it is clear that President Biden is furious with Senator Manchin. It’s going to be very interesting to see how Biden and the Democrats will handle this moving forward.
When a handful of us in the House warned this would happen if Dem leaders gave Manchin everything he wanted 1st by moving BIF before BBB instead of passing together, many ridiculed our position.
